On this day, I had been assigned by the senior to change the decimal places for the price figure. After that, I just proceed to do EDI support calls.

Overall, I focus more on template editing and EDI support calls.

On 15th February 2013

I was assigned with a new task by the senior. I need to edit the template label. This is for a new requirement asked by client and it will be released when upgrading our system to a new version. as usual, I do for EDI support calls.

4th weeks at XeerSoft

Public holiday for Thaipusam festival.

At the morning I standby for the EDI support calls. Next, the senior asked for help to do stock checking system for company. Next I continue to do the hardware checking and find the driver for the devices. on the end of the working hours, I attend the fire prevention talk for the company. The topic explained how to avoid from fire and apply the safety precaution steps. The speakers also advice us to avoid from heavy smoke because heavy smoke can shutdown us very quickly rather than fire.

On 30th January 2013

I do the EDI support calls in the morning. After that, I learnt how to release upgrade for the current system. In additions, I also learns how to used the VMare software and the P4 software to do the release upgrade.

What is P4? P4 software mean there have the other clients change that file and resolve use to see what changes that been made for both client.   

What is Release Upgrade? When a new version is done developed, we need to apply the new program to the customers. A Release Upgrade involves: Program Update and it help to encode the latest set of the program and put into the server. For the Database Synchronization help to update database structure and data.

For the end of the day, I do some Chinese New Year decoration for the company.


On 31st January 2013

Today is my first outstation during the internship. I have been selected to go outstation and see the senior and supervisor deal with a new customer. Luckily, I can see the Xeersoft branch at Melaka. I have to go to Kota Tinggi, Johor. At there I learn how to setup receipt printer and basic function for 3Xpos system. 

What is 3Xpos system? 3Xpos is a pos application specially designed for supermarket/ hypermarket retail operation. The main design objective of 3Xpos is to be fast, simple and stable. Because supermarket operation has a high demand of stable and speedy transaction, 3Xpos must be able to cater the scanning speed of cashier and also the high usage during peak hours. 

3Xpos stands for 3rd generation of Xeersoft Pos.
Also stands for:
1. Explore - exploring the new capability of pos program by using new technologies
2. Expand - implementation of the newly explored capabilities
3. Exposure - increase the exposure of customer brand image and help them to improve their brand image generation  

Before this during the working hours I have to learn by my self all the system in the Knowledge Base. On that day my supervisor ask me to apply the knowledge to setup the PC and my supervisor will evaluate my works. 

On 1st February 2013 

Today is federal territory holiday and our office should be not working on that day. But I am still in the outstation hours. On that day we go to Masai, Johor to settle up the problem for the outlet. At there I also learn how to downgrade the updated browser to make the system is more stable to be used. At certain level, we need to downgrade the browser because the to run the system it need to be compatible with the application. All the system need to be synchronized with the current applications because most of the system have it own lifetimes and we need to follow the trends and evolution of a system.

After that we need to go to Johor Baharu, Johor to solve the current issue during that time. For this session I only watch and see the problems to be solved.







3rd weeks at XeerSoft

On that day I learns how to calculate weekly email supervisor percentages. Email supervisor summary is calculate every week on Friday or Monday every week. The range for calculate email supervisor is (Saturday – next Friday) .There are several types of email labels which are action-action, replied on the same day, replied on 1-2 days and replied back on 3 or more days.


Formula to calculate email supervisor is :

Total email = Same Day + (1-2 Days) + 3+ Days + action/action

Percentage = ((Total Email – action/action) / Total Email ) * 100%

For example :

     Calculate the percentage of summary the email replied within the week.

Total email = Same Day + (1-2 Days) + 3+ Days + action/action

=  66 + 13 + 12 + 16

 = 107

Percentage = ((Total Email – action/action) / Total Email ) * 100%

                   = ( ( 107 – 16 ) / 107 ) * 100 %

                  = 85.05 %

Therefore, the percentage of email replied within the week is 85.05 %

- After that I continued to EDI support calls and at the end of the work hours, I go to help the previous intern for completing their project at Xeersoft before the training ends.

On 22nd January 2013

I continued to cleaning the fun room inside the office. Next, I go back to work for EDI support calls. After that, there is an open ceremony reception for fun room and the reception is celebrated with our manager. At the afternoon, I used to manage the hardware and stock checking for the devices in the our department. I have to check whether the devices can be used or cannot. I have to jot down the records and sent it to the senior.


On 23rd January 2013

On that day, like usual I just stanby for EDI support calls. if there is a problem need to be solved from received calls  then i will try to solve their problems as soon as possible. Next I just continue the current task for hardware checking for the whole day. After that i have to attend the General meeting for all departments. I have to introduce my self officially during the meeting and get some point of view from senior and the supervisor.
